I have so many posts on my mind to write about, I’m trying to make it a habit and post regularly now, I also thought of blogging in both Libyan/Arabic along with English, still thinking about that, even though the blog isn’t followed much, but maybe one day someone will find my posts helpful. Being a first time mum is quite overwhelming so not everything will be suitable for every mum, but at least it's a starter to give an idea of what to look for your baby,
I will start with baby clothes as they are the mothers favourite I guess
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته عندي هلبه مواضيع في بالي تساعد الأمهات وخاصة اللي أم لأول مرة زيني، فكرت في التدوين بالعربي والانجليزي بش يستفيد اكبر قدر ان شاء الله من الأمهات ( واخيراً درتها وبديت نترجم فيهم بالعربي/اللهجة الليبية). لما تكوني ماما جديدة وبكرية، حتحيري شن تأخدي وشن تشري وتوتي للبيبي، فحبيت نكتب الموضوع هذا يساعدك شوية، حنبدأ بالمفضل عند الأمهات اللي هو حوايج البيبي
Clothes :
- Sleepsuits (sizes early baby, newborn, 0-3)
- Onesies (sizes early baby, newborn, 0-3)
- Socks
- Outfits (4-5 not more as they grow up in a blink)
- Pram suit (newborn, it’s still big on her even though she is 5 weeks old now)
- Soft booties
- Shoes, I bought (0-3 months) and they are still very big on her!
- Scratch mittens
الحوايج :
- لبسات نوم (حجم مولود جديد، 0-3 شهور)
- كناتيرات (حجم مولود جديد، 0-3 شهور)
- شخاشير
- لبسات طلوع (4-5 ماتكثريش لأنهم يكبروا بسرعة)
- جبوطوا اللي زي البدلة مع بعضه
- كنادر القطنية زي الكموش للحوش
- كنادر عادية للطلوع
- قوانتيات قطنية (لازم منهم بش البيبي مايخبش روحه)
Accessories (for girls that are) :
- Hats
- Hair bands (their head is so tiny, even the newborn size didn’t fit my baby at first)
- Hair clips
اكسسوارات (للبنات بما أن عندي بنوتة)
- طواقي قطنية
- توكات للشعر
- ستريتشات للشعر
Other necessities (Changing/bath):
- Nappies
- Cotton balls (I found using cotton balls and warm water in much better than wipes, also she didn't get any more nappy rash using it)
- Wipes (I used water wipes 99% better to use than scented ones)
- Baby powder *
- Baby shampoo *
- Baby bath gel *
- Baby oil *
- Changing mat
- Grooming kit
- Nail clipper, scissors & file
- Baby towel
- Baby tub
- Baby sponge
* The midwives mentioned that your baby for the first month should be bathed with warm water only, no products even those developed for newborns are needed.

- شمالات
- قطن (في تنظيف البيبي خير من الوايبس)
- وايبس (استخدمت الوايبس المائية متكونة من 99٪مياة كويسة ومادرتلهاش اي حساسية)
- بودرة البيبي
- شامبو البيبي
- جل الحمام للبيبي
- زيت البيبي
- المات اللي زي الفراش اللي تغيري عليه للبيبي
- عدة الشعر (فرشاة ومشط)
- قصاص ومقص ومبرد للظوافر
- فوطة حمام للبيبي
- بانيو للبيبي
- أسفنجة الحمام للبيبي
Feeding :
- Dummies, are more like soothers for the baby and can calm your baby, but don't over use them as they may lead to your baby having more gas, as baby swallows air whilst sucking
- Sterilizer and bottles (even if you are exclusively breast feeding)
- Breast pump (even if you are exclusively breast feeding)
- Breast feeding pillow "boppy pillow" (life SAVER) it is one of the things that would make your life much easier, instead of pilling pillows to put your baby on, this U shape pillow fits right under your baby around your waist, it is an item I can't live without now
- Burp cloths
- Bibs
الحاجات اللي تستخدميها للبيبي للرضاعة :
- زلباحات (ينصح أنك ماتستخدميهمش هلبه، لأن البيبي كل مايمص يزمط في هواء وهو اللي يسببله غازات)
- جهاز التعقيم وشيش ( حتى لو انك ترضعي طبيعي فقط حتستحقيهم)
- بوبمة الصدر (حتى لو ترضعي طبيعي فقط، حتستخدميها خاصة في الأسابيع الأولى)
- المخدة الخاصة بالرضاعة تكون على شكل حرف U تحطيها على حجرك وانت مقعمزة تجي على جنابك والبيبي فوق تكون مرتاحة وانت مرتاحة خير من تكديس المخاد على بعض
- الفوط (طويلة طول) اللي تحطيها على كتفك وقت تقرعي البيبي بش ماتلبزيش حوايجك
- مريقات
Nursery/your room : It is recommended that babies till the age of 6 months stay with their parents in the same room
- Cot or moses basket
- Blankets (2 cellular blankets, I also bought a fleece one to cover her up if the weather is cold (not to be used in bed))
- Sheets
- Mattress (I would recommend the water proof, in case of any accidents)
- Soft toys including mobile toy for the cot
- Changing table
- Baby monitor
دار البيبي/دارك :
ينصح بأن البيبي في الستة الشهور الأولى يقعد معاك في نفس الدار
- سرير للبيبي/سرير موسى اللي هو زي السلة الصغيرة
- (2 بطانيات سيليولر) اللي فيهم نقب واساعات
- شراشيف للفراش اللي فيهم يستيك
- فراش يكون مضاد للمياة بش يسهل تنظيفه لو البيبي عملتها عالسرير
- العاب للبيبي تكون ناعمة دبدوبات وغيره
- الطاولة الخاصة بالتبديل للبيبي
- المونيتر/الكاميرا اللي تراقبي بيه البيبي لما يكون بروحه في داره
Baby health and care (it's really important to have these):
- Baby thermometer
- Room/bath thermometer
حاجات صحية للبيبي :
- ترمومتر الجسم
- ترمومتر الدار/الحمام
هذو الثنين كويسات هلبه وننصح كل أم يكونوا عندها، لا قدر الله البيبي يسخن وتبي تعرفي درجة حرارته وتطمني كيف بديري لو ماعندكش في الحوش؟
Outdoors :
- Car seat
- Pram (it's important to invest in a good quality pram, that will last for a couple of years)
- Pram blanket (a thick one)
- Pram/car seat toy
- Baby's changing bag
لما تطلعي بالبيبي :
- كرسي السيارة
- الكروسة
- البطانية الخاصة بالكروسة
- لعبة للكروسة/الكرسي
- شنطة البيبي
